New Collection
The Kitchen — Where daily moments become something more
Explore The Kitchen
This collection was born in my kitchen. I spend a lot of time there, and lately every time I walk in, my eye catches something new — a honey jar, an oil bottle, a juicer — and I think, I could make that.
Each piece in this collection is something I wanted in my own home and decided to make by hand. The honey jar with its marble stone top, the citrus juicer, the oil dispenser, the berry bowl with its little saucer, and the pitcher — they're all here because they earned a place on my counter first. I hope they find a place on yours!
Lead time is 6 to 8 weeks

I'm Salmat — a Nigerian-American potter based in Austin. I came to clay almost by accident. After a layoff, I sat down at a wheel for the first time and something quiet in me went still. The work felt familiar in a way I couldn't explain, like my hands had been waiting for it. I've been making ever since.
Salmat's Table is named for the journey every piece takes — from my work table in the studio to yours at home. I grew up in a Nigerian household where the table was the centre of everything: food, family, the people who mattered most. That's the spirit I bring to this work. Each object is made slowly, by hand, in small collections.
I make for the people who set their tables with care, who host with intention, who want objects that hold meaning. My hope is that something I made finds its way into your life and stays there
